Rotary Rain Run 2020 (virtual) - 6 Edition

We are pleased to introduce Rotary Club of Porvorim and wouldlike to let you know a few facts about our activities and projects that are making a positive impact to the community. Rotary club of Porvorim, Club No 50338, is a part of Rotary District 3170 and was chartered on 30th April 1997.

Every year the Rotary Club of Porvorim supports many worthy charity projects that change and save lives. Projects which we have supported in the past include conducting programme to help developmental behaviour and emotional problems in school children in Goa, providing safe drinking water purifier to schools, adoption of school, promote self-help group, blood donation camps, medical check-ups, children libraries, literacy projects and many more.

Our flagship project is the Prakash Cancer Aid Project. We have recently set up a “ Women’s Health Care Centre” with a Mammography Machine to create awareness and conduct camps and check -up for breast and cervical cancer in association with R G Stone Hospital located in Alto Porvorim. These services are being offered free of cost to poor and needy.

So far Rotary Club of Porvorim -

• Conducted more than 250 counselling camps.
• More than 5000 women attended these camps.
• More than 4500 women undergone PAP smear test.
• Setup Women Healthcare Centre with Mammography Machine
• Counselling on General Healthcare & Hygiene for women.
• More than 10 cancer patients are been supported for treatment

These services are offered free of cost to poor and needy and at subsidised cost for others in Goa. It is pertinent to note that those who require assistance for further treatment receive adequate support from Rotary Club of Porvorim.

To support our various charity projects, we will be hosting the Virtual edition  of Rotary Rain Run as a fundraising event for our club with 100% of raised funds going back to community through various charity projects being undertaken by the club. The event will get wide publicity through print media / Radio / TV and social media across Goa and neighbouring States.

Each year, our organization undertakes numerous community welfare projects and assist individuals in need. Donations help us in increasing our reach and benefit to the community which we serve.

The run is  organised every year on last Sunday of July.
