National Master Run 2024 - 1 Edition

The National Masters Run 2024, set to take place on September 22nd, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the history of Masters Athletics in India. Organized by the Masters Athletic Federation of India (MAFI) and exclusively managed by Techplay, this event is the first of its kind on a national scale.  

MAFI, an organisation with a rich 40-year legacy, was originally led by the late Milkha Singh, a legendary figure in Indian athletics. The National Masters Run 2024 aims to carry forward this legacy and provide a platform for masters athletes to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.

GENERAL

Participants in the National Masters Run 2024 will benefit from a well-structured event that adheres to clear guidelines and offers comprehensive support.  
The event is a "TIMED RUN" open to individuals aged 35 and above, with specific age categories defined to ensure fair competition.  
These categories include 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, 74-85, and 85 & above.  
Participants must be at least 35 years of age on the day of the marathon, unless otherwise specified for specific categories. Please refer to the cut-off dates mentioned below.  
          35-44 (Born between 23/09/1979 - 22/09/1989)

          45-54 (Born between 23/09/1969 - 22/09/1979)

          55-64 (Born between 23/09/1959 - 22/09/1969)

          65-74 (Born between 23/09/1949 - 22/09/1959)

          75-84 (Born between 23/09/1939 - 22/09/1949)

          85 & above (Born On or before 22/09/1939)

It is crucial for participants to review all the details provided on the registration page and application form before applying, as cancellations and refunds are not permitted.  
Moreover, participants must be physically fit and comply with all the rules and regulations set forth by the organizer.  
Any instances of abusive behaviour, cheating, or misrepresentation will result in immediate disqualification and potential banning from future events.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

The registration process for the National Masters Run 2024 requires participants to provide accurate and up-to-date information.  
The registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, ensuring the commitment of participants to the event.  
In the case of unforeseen circumstances leading to event postponement, the fees will be automatically allocated to the rescheduled event.  
Upon successful completion of the registration process, participants will receive a confirmation email and invoice. If these documents are not received, participants are advised to contact the event organizers at events@techplay.co for assistance.  
It is important to note that on-spot registrations will not be entertained, and advance registration is mandatory for all participants.

EXPO & RACE DAY

Participants must collect their running number bibs at the Expo on September 21st, 2024. The bibs will not be mailed or distributed on the race day itself.  
In case a participant is unable to collect their bib in person, an authorised representative can do so on their behalf, provided they present the necessary documents.  
During the race, participants must adhere to strict regulations to ensure fair play and sportsmanship.  
Running in the registered category is mandatory, and bibs and bib tags are non-transferable. Any discrepancies in personal details, use of banned substances, or tampering with the bib will result in immediate disqualification, with no refunds or certificates issued to the offending participant.  
The event will also enforce cut-off times, and participants who fail to meet these timings will be required to continue the footpath.
To ensure smooth identification and timekeeping, participants must wear their bibs visibly on their chest throughout the race.  
Any alteration or obstruction of the bib will lead to disqualification.  
Participants must follow designated route approved by the organizers if seen tampered will be disqualified  
Participants are also advised to be aware of their health conditions and consult a doctor, if necessary, before participating in the event.  
MAFI and Techplay will not be held liable for any medical issues arising from participation, and the organizers reserve the right to stop any participant deemed medically unfit to continue the race. 
Organizers are not responsible for participants loss and damage of baggage's the ownership lies with the participants

AWARDS

The event will culminate in a victory ceremony to honour the top three finishers in each category.  
All finishers will receive medals and timing certificates in recognition of their achievement.  
Moreover, all finishers will be eligible for MAFI membership, and the top ten performers in each category will qualify for MAFI world events, providing them with an opportunity to represent India on a global stage.
