About Dudhsagar:

Dudhsagar is a four-tiered waterfall located in the Western Ghats of India. It is one of the most prominent and beautiful waterfalls in the country. The waterfall is situated on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa, near the border with Karnataka. The name "Dudhsagar" means ‘sea of milk’. The milky appearance of the water forms when it cascades down the rocky tiers, resembling a stream of milk.

Mythical story!

This Sea of Milk name for Dudhsagar Waterfall came from the myth associated with it. The story goes like this once there was a princess, she was the daughter of king of ghats. She used to go to nearby lake to bath and along with her, the maidens used to drink milk from the jug. One day a prince was crossing the lake and hearing the sound of laughter of princess and the maiden he stopped. Maidens poured the jug of milk in the water around her to save her honor. Hence the name “Dudhsagar”.

But what many do not know is that being occupied by the majestic hills of the Western Ghats, the part of Goa near its Karnataka border is dotted with many waterfalls and beautiful trails in Mollem National Park & Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary like the Dudhsagar trek trail. So even if you are not a beach lover, there is yet another reason to visit Goa – The scenic Western Ghats and its forests.

Route Description:

The trail starts from the beautiful rustic 50-acre Dudhsagar Plantation with a natural pool, passes through the dense forests and beautiful rural side of Goa and all the races takes / U-turn at the Dudhsagar waterfalls, located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park in the Western Ghats. And it is all worth it when you reach the waterfall glory. When you witness the water rapids for the first time, you will be surprised to see such a magnificent view, and the natural beauty surrounding it is praise-worthy.

Apart from the sanctuary jeep trails and crop fields the course is also set on mountainous terrain and is a mix of easy-ascent slopes with a few rocky sections. The route offers you to climb and decent moderate technical sections with loose rocks but no big boulders. As this race is organized by Grand Indian Trails, participants are advised to understand and accept the risks of accidents that can be caused by the race. To be able to enjoy the race, it is recommended for participants to practice regularly to endure the challenge. Be prepared for a tough ultra; the longer distances cover an elevation gain of over 1600m through the lush forests in the Ghats.

Qualifying Criteria:

The participants must meet the following criteria:

You must be 18 years of age or older before Nov 12, 2023 to take part in 110K, 55K, 21K, 10K and 12 years of age or older to take part in 3K.
For registering for 21K, one must have completed a 5K in 00:45Hrs.
For registering for 55K, one must have completed a Half Marathon in 02:30Hrs.
For registering for 110K, one must have completed a Full Marathon in 05:00Hrs or any Ultra Marathon within the cut-off time prescribed by the organizers of the race. For 12hr runs like stadium runs, one must have at least run 50 km.
Races run after 01-Jan-2022 will only be considered as a qualifying race..
There is no qualifying criteria for the 3K.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

# Any cancellation before 60 days will be eligible for a 100% refund of the registration fee.

# Any cancellation between 60-45 days will be eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fee.

# Any cancellation between 44-30 days will be eligible for a 25% refund of the registration fee.

# Any cancellation between 30-0 days will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.
