The Extra Mile Foundation is a charitable trust and non-profit organization, founded with the intention to save premature and sick newborns, who can survive with good intensive care treatment in the NICU; but whose parents cannot bear the cost. The Extra Mile Foundation works to bridge the gap between treatment and insufficient resources.

Our vision

The Extra Mile Foundation is committed to building a world where every premature and sick newborn gets affordable care and where the loss of life and illness among underprivileged newborns can be prevented.

Our mission

Excellent care for every newborn equitably.

Our objectives:

1. Equitable care: The Extra Mile Foundation is a non-profit organization working towards providing equitable, quality medical care for all premature and sick newborns from the lower economic strata.

2. Patient-centric and timely care: The Extra Mile Foundation is focused on providing patient-centric care depending on individual patient needs, criticality, and outcomes of illness. It is associated with multiple healthcare facilities that provide quality care. We believe timely referral and transport to higher and better-equipped centers will improve the future outcomes of these sick and premature newborns.

3. Spreading awareness: We seek to raise awareness of the emotional and social problems arising while handling a preterm infant by involving parents in counseling and rehabilitation options and prospects. We conduct workshops and provide psychological and moral support to them. We organize various awareness events to raise public support for children with developmental problems due to premature birth.

4. Training of healthcare workers: The Extra Mile Foundation is helping scale up and strengthen the education and training of healthcare workers who are posted in the peripheries, small newborn care units (SNCU), and remote areas. This enables advanced skill-based learning.

5. Child saving a child’s life: We are collaborating with various schools in Hyderabad and eventually will have “Kiddo Partners of Extra Mile”. They will raise money for the newborns in need. We are entrusted to give them an understanding of being fortunate and the joy of helping the cause.

Points to remember:

This is a timed run. This is to ensure that we begin and end the marathon at the same time, even if your pace is different.
We have 3K, 5K, and 10K runs. You can register for any of them.
Children above 5 years of age can register for the run.
