The Himalayan Expedition Silk Route Ultra Trail 2024 - 1 Edition

Welcome to The Himalayan Expedition! Silk Route Ultra Trail 2024 - an ultra trail marathon hosted on the erstwhile Silk Route before the roads took center stage. The Silk Route was a historic trade route that dated from the second century B.C. until the 14th century A.D. It stretched from Asia to the Mediterranean, traversing China, India, Persia, Arabia, Greece, and Italy. It was dubbed the Silk Route because of the heavy silk trading that took place on this route during that period. It was the main trading route through Kinnaur, Rampur, Narkanda, Shimla, Kalka and reached Delhi. With the passage of time and the development of roads, this old route has been forgotten and has become history.

The Silk Route Ultra Trails 2024 is your chance to ramble through history on this long-forgotten route from Narkanda to Kinnaur.

CHALLENGES

100 KM | 6950 m D+ | 26 hrs | Narkanda - Rampur | ITRA POINTS - 5

INTERMEDIARY CUT OFF: 50 KM in 12 HRS

Eligibility: The participant should be 18 years of age or older on or before March 31, 2024. The participant must have finished a 100-kilometer race on roads or a 50-kilometer race on trails between August 1, 2023, to February 29, 2024.

55 KM | 3120 m D+ | 10 hrs | Narkanda - Narayan | ITRA POINTS - 3

Eligibility: The participant should be 18 years of age or older on or before March 31, 2024. The participant must have finished a marathon on roads or a half marathon race on trails between August 01, 2023, to February 29, 2024.

33 KM | 1620 m D+ | 5 hrs | Narkanda to Khadarala | ITRA POINTS - 1

Eligibility: The participant should be 18 years of age or older on or before March 31st, 2024.

15 KM | 780 m D+ | 4 hrs | Narkanda to Baghi

Eligibility: The participant should be 18 years of age or older on or before March 31st, 2024. 

This is a tough event, and for your own safety, we strongly recommend that you are adequately prepared for it. Please review and ensure that you meet the following criteria before you register. We will not make any exceptions. You must be 18 years of age or older before September 30, 2023. Younger participants may be allowed at the discretion of the Race Director if they have sufficient experience with distance-running. However, we will require written consent from their parents.
