Race Course
STEEL CITY RUN 2023 will feature the same race course as the 2022 edition, taking runners through the scenic outskirts of Ballari. The course is almost entirely flat, with minimal elevations as they take on the course. The 10K, 5K and 3k routes all follow similar paths. All three 2023 Race Maps can be seen below.
Running Conduct

Runners must complete the entire prescribed distance for their race within the mentioned Cut-Off Timings to be eligible for the prizes, medals and e-certificates.

Runners are permitted to wear earphones while running.

Runners are requested to run on the right-hand side, as many of the roads and paths will be operated both ways, with runners going and coming on the same path.
First Aid/Ambulance
Ambulances will be stationed at the Start Line Zone and at 2 major points throughout the course, ready to assist runners in need at any time. There will also be medical personnel available at major crossing points to help with any medical problems that may occur. Mobile event organisers on the course will be monitoring the progress of all runners and will be ready to respond with First Aid if needed.
Timing
On finishing the run, the 10k and 5k participants will receive their timings via SMS within few hours. Final results will be posted online and organized via overall ranking and age groups.

Ranking & Medals
Every participant receives a finisher’s medal upon completion of their race. Rankings will be organised in overall and age group categories and certificates will be available online. Overall winners (top three males and top three females for each distance) will receive the Winner, Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up medals along with cash prizes. This time there would be special 4th and 5th place prizes too, but reserved for the local runners of Ballari district only.
Finish Line Zone
After you complete your race you will cross the Finish Line. There you will be able to:

Receive your race medal!

Help yourself to water/hydration and then some breakfast.

Visit the Medical Station for any medical problems

Head to the Spectator Zone to see your friends and family

Attend the Awards Ceremony at 7:45 am, where the winners will be announced

Saturday, 05th August 2023
9:00 pm to 6:00 pm: BIB & T-Shirt Collection with Briefing Sessions

RACE DAY: Sunday, 06th August 2023
5:00 am: Arrival at the grounds.
6:15 am: 10k Run Flag-off
6:30 am: 5k Run Flag-off
6:45 am: 3K Majja Run Flag-off
7:45 am: Awards Ceremony

*All runners should arrive to the Race Venue at least 45 minutes before their Start Time.
BIB & T-Shirt Collection

Runners should pick up their running kits on
05th August 2023 between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm only.
Kindly note that runners will not be able to collect their BIB/kits on the race day. .
Getting to the Race
The second edition of STEEL CITY RUN will take place on Sunday, 06th August 2023.
There is parking available near the Start Line Zone, where participants will be able to park before the race begins.
Participants should note that there are no facility to store valuables & belongings at location. Runners are advised to leave their belongings in their parked vehicles, or with friends and family.
Start Line Zone
The Start Line Zone is where all runners must head to on the morning of the RACE DAY.
You must have your BIB securely attached to your t-shirt when you arrive at the Start Line Zone.
At the Start Line Zone, you will find the following:
Water Stations
Medical Stations
Ambulance (for last minute medical needs & emergencies)
Start Line Zone Stage for final announcements
10 minutes before the race start time, runners will be directed to the Start Line to begin their race.
Spectators
Though the event ground would be restricted to only the participants, the event wouldn’t be the same without friends, family, and spectators cheering on the runners! Spectators can accompany participants to the event in the morning, and are encouraged to support them on the course separately as they run throughout the race line.
Please note that spectators are not permitted to cross the Finish Line with runners.
