Satara Hill Half Marathon 2021 - 10 Edition

SHHM – The Ultra Half Marathon is one of India’s biggest 3 Half Marathon events ( based on number of Finishers, along with Airtel Delhi & Tata Mumbai Marathon )

It is popular around the World for its beautiful and challenging route. SHHM is usually held in the first half of September in Satara, Maharashtra.

Last year, we had to shift to a unique format of SHHM - the "Stay Home & Healthy Marathon" (our 9th edition) due to the pandemic situation in 2020, which also saw enthusiastic participation from SHHM runners. 

As we look forward this year, to celebrating 10 successful years of SHHM, we are also commemorating 75 glorious years of our Nation's Independence. 

We have all supported every effort of the Government to control the pandemic & stood united as "One Nation - One People " to overcome some of the most challenging & testing times in our Country's History. 

Now once again, with the active support & participation of the Government and Local Administration, we look forward to overcoming the setbacks caused by the pandemic & to march ahead with renewed energy and confidence.

As conditions are definitely improving, we are optimistic about hosting you again in Satara for a Special Limited Edition ON GROUND event, coming up on 12th December 2021. 

The Main theme for this year's event is to celebrate 75th year of Indian Independence, which promises to be a very special & memorable event indeed. 

While we usually have 6000 plus registrations, this year we'll be able to accommodate far fewer runners on account of the pandemic situation.

We are aware that this would mean many runners won't be able to register. But we have to go ahead and make the best of it & we do hope to have many more runners for our 11th edition next year, by which time the situation would certainly be much better.  

KINDLY GO THROUGH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION VERY CAREFULLY & ALSO COMMUNICATE THE SAME TO ALL YOUR RUNNER FRIENDS :

TERMS & CONDITIONS for SHHM 2021 to be held on 12th December 2021 (ESPECIALLY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID SITUATION)

There are 2 separate categories for runners -  

A) Satara Local category - Satara District

B) Outstation category - Other than Satara District

There are limited registration slots available in each category (only 750 each)

 Only your Aadhar card will be allowed as proof of residence.

 Registration for Satara Local Runners will be open on 12th November Only (from 6 am to 6 pm)

 Outstation Runners can register on 13th November only (from 6 am to 6 pm)

Registration will be on First come First served basis. In view of limited registration slots, we recommend that you register at the earliest possible time on your respective dates.

In case some slots remain vacant in Satara Local category on 12th November (though unlikely) they will be added to the Outstation category on the next day. 

Only Runners who have completed both doses of their Covid Vaccination would be allowed to register and run.

You'll have to upload your Final Vaccination Certificate at the time of registration.

Only runners who have finished a 21k (Half Marathon) in less than 3 hours on or after 1st January 2019 in an ON GROUND event will be allowed to register. You'll have to upload your Finisher certificate at the time of registration.

 The Registration is being taken subject to requisite final permission from the Government Authorities.

 In case the event has to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions, your registration shall be carried over to next year (SHHM 2022) There will be no refunds. 

No Separate medals like Hill Champion / Conqueror / Challenger will be given this year, due to technical & logistical challenges in implementing the same. 

Irrespective of their Finish Time, all runners will receive the same Special Limited Edition Finisher Medals (specially made for this 10th edition of SHHM & to celebrate 75 years of India's Freedom) 

There will be Wave Starts, with small groups of runners (approx 50 each) starting in batches, to ensure distancing. Runners will have to start from their respective allotted batches only. 

The Finishing time and rankings of runners will be on the basis of Chip Time (not Gun Time)

There will be No Prize Distribution Ceremony, to help avoid crowding.

Winners will receive their prize money & Trophy by Courier within 15 days after the event.

No Relatives or friends will be allowed at the Race Venue. Only participants with Official Bib will be allowed entry to the Holding area on Race Day. 

Compulsory wearing of Face Mask & Social Distancing is mandatory at the Start and Finish Venue. The Organisers will implement the appropriate Covid protocols strictly. Any runner found violating the rules will be disqualified and barred from the event.

If any runner is suspected of having infection, upon Temperature & / or pulsox reading, the runner will be barred from participation in view of the safety of other participants.
