The Buddha Trails 2019 - 1 Edition
Event On - 11th May 2019
Description
The Buddha Trails in the Sandakphu region was a success. Again, we were able to highlight the local talent who finished first and third in the 30km category, upping the Hell Race Trail Series game. The 65km category really tested the mettle of the runners. We had 11 participants in this category that had an elevation gain of more than 3200 meters but only 3 could finish the race + one more but outside the time limit; other 06 runners had to give up on the distance. Santhosh Gowda finished first and shared his experiences, “The views were quite amazing – the mountain views, forests, and the weather today actually favored us. Each race in the Hell Race Trail Series is getting tougher but exciting.”
The Buddha Trails takes you to the exquisite views of the four 8000ers mountain peaks. This race, set in the forests of the Sandakphu region near Darjeeling, has got its name from The Sleeping Buddha which is what the Kanchenjunga range looks like. Sandakphu is the highest point in the state of West Bengal (at 3,636m) and the trek is quite famous among the masses.
