Malnad Ultra 2022 - 2 Edition

The Malnad Ultra is a challenging run through some of the most enchanting and exciting terrain that one can imagine for a run. We will offer three categories over 30, 50 and 100 Kms on our course in the Western Ghats of South India. 

Started in 2016, we have completed five editions thus far and are possibly India’s biggest Trail Ultra already.

The origin of the name Malnad is attributed to Male meaning Hill and Nadu meaning Land. So, Malnad is the land of the hills! 

Our volunteer-driven and not-for-profit event is certified by the International Trail Running Association and is a UTMB® Qualifier.  We are also the only Qualifier for WSER from India, and part of Asia Trail Master Championship Series 

Organised by GIREM, the course takes runners through beautiful estates, with stunning views in the Western Ghats of South India. This area is home to over 100 plant species and 50 animal species. 

Our 2022 Edition is scheduled for November 26 subject to government decisions related to travel and events due to the ongoing pandemic. We expect to open registrations in May 2022.
